[Talk - Siegfried, Salvatore, Ping]

Siegfried carried some folded clothes over his arm. Had he gotten them from one of those cabinets?

Tim smiles.
Timaeus
Hah, changing already?
Siegfried looks serious.
Siegfried
I do not wear this suit of my own volition, Herr Woodworth. Our captor has allowed us a few changes of clothes, at least…
Salvatore flirts.
Salvatore
I think it’s a good look on you, doll.
Siegfried frowns.
Siegfried
Please do not call me “doll.”

Siegfried harrumphed as he picked up a couple of extra hangers from a cabinet, but Salvatore was not swayed from the hunt.

Salvatore giggles.
Salvatore
Ah, but I’m just partial to a man in a fancy suit. Though I really don’t know why you insist on so many layers… What do you think, Tim, wouldn’t he look good in a nice simple t-shirt, maybe a little too tight–
Tim is thoroughly flustered.
Timaeus
Wh– yes but why are you asking me?!
Siegfried smiles.
Siegfried
Hm! But, I suspect Herr Woodworth would agree that sweaters, they are cozy, ja?
Tim laughs.
Timaeus
This is also true!
Sal pouts
Salvatore
It’s not even that cold up here…
Sieg smiles.
Siegfried
You will find me capable of handling my own affairs in the realm of fashion. But, should I need a second opinion, I will be sure to consult you, Individuum Benevici–
Sal laughs.
Salvatore
Oh this again, you really can just call me Sal!~

They’ve known each other for like, less than a day, right? And already it seems like Salvatore’s managed to crack Siegfried out of his shell… I guess they have more in common than I thought.

Salvatore.
Salvatore
In all seriousness, how is Ishi doing? Anything I can do to help?
Tim looks worried.
Timaeus
Um, Aoi’s keeping an eye on her and it sounds like she isn’t doing too badly. They wanted me to look for a first aid kit, though. Have you two seen anything like that?
Siegfried frowns.
Siegfried
I have not. Es tut mir lied.

He turned to leave, but Salvatore elbowed him.

Sal smiles.
Salvatore
Well we can check again, can’t we? Let’s help the poor darling out!
Timaeus smiles.
Timaeus
Oh, um, thanks!

The odd couple helped me go through the cabinets in the laundry room. While there wasn’t a first aid kit, we did find some spare bedsheets that we could cut into strips with scissors from the kitchen. There was one place on this ship I hadn’t checked yet, though– the laundry room storage closet. But it was blocked off by a familiar face…

Ping sits in front of the closet door, sleeping. Tim unsuccessfully tries to wake her.
Timaeus
Ping? Hello?

I waved my hand in front of her face, but she didn’t respond. The little robot sat with her back against the door, eyes closed, plugged into the nearby electrical outlet. I tried to nudge her out of the way, but… oof, she’s way heavier than she looks!

I looked back over my shoulder and Salvatore was practically climbing on Siegfried.

Tim sighs.
Timaeus
I turn around for five seconds…
Sal flirts voraciously.
Salvatore
Hey Sieeeeeeg, you gonna help him out or are those muscles just for show?~
Siegfried fusses at him.
Siegfried
I– if you will leave me alone, I will try, ja? I can do nothing with you clambering on me!
Sal laughs.
Salvatore
Okay, okay.

Salvatore retreated, and Siegfried straightened his jacket with a grumble.

He set down the change of clothes, hefted the robot into his arms with impressive ease– wasn’t she, like, solid metal?– and set her down on top of a washer. The little cord came loose… hopefully that wouldn’t bother her too much.

Tim giggles.
Timaeus
Wow, uh– thank you! So many strong people up here…
Siegfried looks smug.
Siegfried
After you, Herr Woodworth.

He opened the door with a little half bow. I headed inside, but not before catching Salvatore sidling up to him again out of the corner of my eye. Siegfried didn’t protest as much this time– despite his stiff mannerisms, it was very obvious he enjoyed the attention.

The closet was filled with more linens and cleaning supplies, as well as some assorted changes of clothes. Way in the back, though, I spied some small white boxes… Lo and behold, the first aid kits! I could see only one reason they would be hidden so far back– MONO-9000 was screwing with us.

I grabbed two boxes and hopped out of the closet triumphantly. The boys had left already… hopefully to get a room, I grumbled to myself. However, Ping had now stirred into consciousness, and she beeped at me indignantly.

Ping looks offended.
Ping
Why is Ping up here? She was on the floor!
Tim laughs nervously.
Timaeus
Um, we had to move you because you were blocking the door…

She hopped down to the floor with a loud clang and waddled unsteadily back towards the outlet.

Ping go blep.
Ping
Oh… Kyohoho! Ping is sooooorryyyy.~ When Ping is tired, she automatically searches for the closest charging station!~

Now that I thought about it, this was the closest outlet to the entrance, wasn’t it? Huh. I put a hand on her shoulder to try and turn her around.

Tim smiles worriedly.
Timaeus
Well, um, there’s another outlet in the library if you want to move there instead! It’s nice and quiet, yeah?
Ping smiles.
Ping
Ummmmmm… Okay!~

She headed for the door at the same wobbly pace, and I walked with her to make sure she didn’t get lost. She seemed even more out of it than usual… but that made sense if she was low on battery, I guess.

Once in the library, she plugged herself in next to the fake fireplace and sank to the ground.

Ping falls asleep.
Ping
Good niiiiiiiiiight…~
Tim laughs.
Timaeus
Um… good night!

…Well, I had the first aid kits now, at long last! And those extra sheets to cut up into bandages… hopefully that would be enough. I think it’s time to head back to Ishi’s room.
