Aoi knelt by Gugalanna’s body, holding up her arm so they could get a closer look at the skin. It was covered in ghastly burns– I couldn’t look for very long without feeling sick.

Timaeus

Oh… you told me earlier, you’ve, uh, worked with dead bodies before, right? Can you–

Aoi

I mean, yeah, but usually when I do the autopsy it’s because the patient’s died from a specific form of cancer. Not something like… this.

Timaeus

R-right. Sorry.

Aoi

But I guess I can confirm that the MONOFile is right about the cause of death. The electrocution burns are pretty obvious, see?

They held up one of her hands to show me– I flinched away.

Timaeus

Y-yeah, I see– so, we can probably trust the other information in the file, right?

Aoi

I’d say so. What’s more interesting to me, though, is that I don’t see any other injuries on her body. Not on her arms, hands, legs… nothing.

Timaeus

Really? As beat up as Ping is, you’d think there’d be something…
