[Free Time - Nikola]
I found Nikola in the cafeteria, opening a box of tea as the electric kettle rose to a boil. He’d been hunched over a little, chewing his lip nervously… but as soon as he realized someone else was in the room, he stood up straight and beamed at me.
Nikola
Tim! Hi! Hello! What’s going on?
Timaeus
Hi…! I guess I’m just looking for someone to talk to–
Nikola
Oh I’d love to talk to you I’m just now making some tea would you like some just go grab a table and I’ll be right there!!!
Timaeus
Ahaha, um, alright!
…Was that all one sentence?
I sat down at the table by a window and waited, watching the stars outside. After a few minutes, Nikola sat down across from me with a bright smile, bearing two little mugs of tea.
Nikola
It’s chamomile, I hope that’s alright!!
Timaeus
That’s fine, though I don’t think I’ve… ever actually had it? But it smells good!
Nikola
Just wait till you try it! Heeheehee!
He propped his head up with one hand, and took a swig of tea with the other.
Timaeus
That’s funny, I kinda assumed you were a coffee person… or energy drinks.
Nikola
Oh goodness no I do not need any caffeine!! Or too much sugar or anything of the sort, really! I do like the taste of coffee, but um… no, no, I can’t!!
Timaeus
Oh, uh, I see… So does that mean you like the chamomile so much because…
