I hadn’t seen much of Gugalanna since the first day, so I stopped by her dorm to make sure she was doing okay. I knocked several times, but there wasn’t any response… Just as I was about to leave, though, the door cracked open.
She slapped a hand over her face and glanced furtively around the hallway. It was only then that I realized I’d just seen… her actual face! I wasn’t supposed to, was I?
Satisfied that the coast was clear, she waddled back into her room and waved me in.
Gugalanna’s room was filled with massive weights, and a punching bag stood in the corner. It made sense for her talent, of course, but they were still a little intimidating. Especially since a couple of them looked bent or broken… Had she done that? With her bare hands??
Seems like the little powerhouse had been taking a nap– she was still wearing her pajamas, and her mask and costume lay in a pile on the edge of her bed. She looked up at me and blinked sleepily.
She picked up one of the big discs– 50kg, it said– and bent it, revealing a crack along the edge.
I prayed for all our sakes that we wouldn’t have to witness whatever this terrifying little wrestler would call “going nuts.” Maybe I should change the subject…
