Standing next to the girls was a guy with cotton candy blue hair, a tutu, and little foam butterfly wings hanging from his back by elastic straps. He reminded me of my little sisters playing dress up… Was he really a Hope’s Peak student?
Well, judging by the deep gruffness in his voice, he was definitely at least my age, regardless of his fashion choices.
…Had I really been that close to death??
In retrospect, I had seen videos of similar sorts of things at fairs and circuses, so maybe I shouldn’t have been so scared, but in the context of having just been kidnapped… look, give me a break, okay? Michi laughed it off, at least, so he probably got that reaction a lot.
He swung his chainsaw up from where it had been clipped onto his belt (oh god how did I not even notice that before) and flicked the switch on and off a few times, to demonstrate. I guess that was sort of comforting?
He nodded towards the tall girl wearing a snapback. I gave him a nervous smile and took my leave.
Michi seemed nice enough, but it was hard to tell just how seriously he was taking things… The way he wielded that chainsaw so casually unnerved me, even if it did have a big red bow on it.
And why on earth was he dressed like that? He never did say.
